Arapawa Homestead

Here at Arapawa Homestead we have three delightful accommodations to suit your needs of a lovely sounds holiday. First being Gunyah, a historic holiday home situated overlooking the entrance to Tory Channel, looking out to the dramatic views of Cook Strait. The homestead is fully equipped, private and has full amenities for to have a comfortable stay. All linen and towels are supplied. Gunyah sleeps 13 to 14 people. The tarrif for summer season is $260 per night up to 5 people, and $20 per night each additional person. The tarrif for off-season is $190 per night up to 5 people, and $20 per night each additional person. Our second accommodation is the School Cottage. Which is the remodelled school, where the whalers children were educated. This special, cosy cottage is located on the grassy flats to Whekenui Bay, Tory Channel. The cottage sleeps 6 comfortably, a maximum of 7 people. There is one set of double bunks and one set of single bunks. A fold down bed is also available. The cottage is open plan living style including kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven and hob and microwave oven. Separate shower and toilet facilities. The tarrif for summer season is $170 per night up to 6 people, and $15 per night per extra person if additional camping is needed. The tarrif for off-season is $125 per night up to 6 people, and $25 per night per extra person if additional camping is needed. Lastly is our third accommodation, which originally was the accommodation for the teacher of the whaler’s children, the Hut has a fully self-contained kitchen with a bath/shower and three single beds in the form of one set of bunks and one single bed. The tarrif for summer season is $85 per night up to 3 people The tarrif for off-season is $170 per night up to 3 people We have beautiful scenic walks all over our farm. The sandy beach is safe for children, perfect to go diving from, and for those fishing enthusiasts one can fish from our jetty.
