Bike Torea Saddle to Anakiwa
Follow the ridgeline then drop to Mistletoe Bay Eco Village where there are whare and campsites for anyone wanting to lengthen their stay. From there it’s a lovely beech dappled ride to Anakiwa.
Organise a bus or a boat to Picton in advance, or ride on the Link Pathway, which is a beautiful coastline path to Picton. The Link Pathway is a 42-kilometre walking and mountain bike track that connects Havelock, Picton, Anakiwa and the Queen Charlotte Track in Marlborough. Check the condition of the path before planning this last section.
At Anakiwa there is a shelter, a public card phone, accommodation options, toilet, car park, and bike wash.There is an overnight park on the gravel area at the Village Green, however parking/safety is at your own risk and spaces are limited. Mountain bikers catching water taxi services are collected from the first jetty on your left at Anakiwa. Boat transport should be organised prior to arrival.
Cycling from Anakiwa to Mistletoe Bay or Lochmara Lodge is a good day trip, with the option of organising a boat pick up or staying the night for a return journey the next day.
As parts of this section cross over private land, you'll need to purchase a QCTLC Pass from the Picton, Blenheim or Havelock isite Visitor Information centres beforehand.
